Leaders of Newport’s Faith Communities and Governing Authorities are cordially invited to a brief but informative meeting on Wednesday 12th November 2008, 12.00 noon – 1.30 pm, at Duckpool Road Baptist Church, 54 Duckpool Road, Newport (lunch provided – donations welcome). Both parties have aspirations for serving the welfare of our citizens and the meeting seeks a new level of cooperative action and expediency to enable this.
Gweini’s John M. Evans, Strategic Director and author of the “Wales Faith Audit“, along with Jim Stewart, Policy Director, will be presenting the findings specifically for Newport. The report shows the high level of service currently afforded by faith-based volunteers; it also highlights that considerably more will be achieved as parties increase collaboration. Faith-based communities constitute a potential army of volunteers who are willing, dedicated and compassionate, but who need training, leadership and resources to get better mobilized.
We will also brooch the possibility of STREET PASTORS for Newport.
If you intend to come to the meeting kindly e-mail or telephone to confirm your attendance. (Tel: 01633 677881 / Email: church@duckpool.org)
